Market research firm Research and Markets recently released the “Embedded Systems Market Report 2026,” projecting that the global embedded systems market will grow from $120.56 billion in 2025 to $131.67 billion in 2026, representing a CAGR of 9.2%. The report forecasts that by 2030, the market will further expand to $180.07 billion, with a CAGR of 8.1% from 2026.
The report identifies key growth drivers including rising adoption of autonomous systems, increasing demand for edge AI applications, expansion of connected device ecosystems, and higher investment in embedded software platforms. Greater emphasis on functional safety standards is also encouraging organizations to implement more reliable and secure embedded computing architectures.
From an industry chain perspective, Intel, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, NXP, and Arm are accelerating edge AI deployment in the embedded sector. Intel launched its 2nd Gen Core processors at Embedded World 2026; Qualcomm unveiled its Dragonfly AI accelerator platform; and NVIDIA introduced the RTX Spark AI platform for edge AI computing.
Regionally, Asia-Pacific accounts for approximately 43% of embedded software deployments, North America about 28%, and Europe about 22%. Industrial applications account for approximately 18% of embedded software usage, automotive about 24%, and consumer electronics about 29%. As AI migrates from cloud to edge, the proportion of AI-enabled embedded systems is rising rapidly, with approximately 40% of newly developed industrial devices already integrating machine learning algorithms.
