Rockchip RK3576 Enters Mass Production Ramp-Up, E-Readers and Interactive Displays Accelerate Deployment

2026-10-12 Industry Insights

Rockchip recently disclosed that its RK3576 chip, launched in March this year, has rapidly completed terminal product R&D and mass production with leading customers in target scenarios during Q2, officially entering mass production ramp-up in the second half of the year. This milestone marks RK3576—an important component of the company’s mid-to-high-end AIoT compute platform—transitioning from design-in to scaled shipment.

In terms of terminal forms, products currently launched with RK3576 primarily include e-readers, interactive displays, mid-size screens, network storage devices (NAS/NVR), and cloud terminals. These scenarios demand high performance, power efficiency, and multimedia capabilities from the chip. RK3576, with its octa-core architecture, 6 TOPS NPU compute, and rich interface resources, well meets these requirements. Meanwhile, an increasing number of customers across additional scenarios are entering the design-in stage, indicating RK3576’s application footprint continues to expand rapidly.

Performance-wise, RK3576 sits between the RK356X series and the flagship RK3588, built on 22nm advanced process technology, integrating a 4×Cortex-A72 + 4×Cortex-A53 CPU cluster, paired with Mali-G52 GPU and 6 TOPS NPU, supporting 4K60 video codec and multi-camera input. This configuration achieves an excellent balance between cost-effectiveness and compute power, particularly suitable for terminal products that are cost-sensitive yet require certain AI capabilities.

Notably, the RK3576 + RK1828 coprocessor combination has been adopted in select high-end scenarios. The host SoC manages system operations and multimedia processing, while the coprocessor delivers 20 TOPS of on-device AI inference compute. Together they enable a complete capability stack from basic intelligence to advanced AI agents. This “host + coprocessor” architecture is becoming one of Rockchip’s core competitive strengths.

For embedded core board manufacturers, RK3576’s production ramp-up means another high cost-performance platform entering large-scale availability. Junyi Microelectronics will continue tracking RK3576 core board productization, providing customers with stable and reliable hardware solutions and technical support.
