In October 2026, board vendors such as Dingchang Electronics unveiled their latest lineups of wide-temperature industrial motherboards. Products based on Rockchip’s J-series industrial-grade chips – RK3588J, RK3576J, RK3568J, RK3368 and RK3562J – now cover operating temperatures from -45C to 85C, and wide-temperature boards are becoming standard equipment for edge computing devices in extreme environments such as outdoor, in-vehicle and energy-storage deployments.
Specifically, RK3588J boards support -45C to 85C operation with 9-36V wide-voltage input, opto-isolated interfaces and dual CAN ports, plus dual Gigabit Ethernet for industrial control and edge computing projects; RK3576J boards (-40C to 85C) support the RT real-time kernel patch for high real-time performance and reliability; RK3568J boards offer a cost-effective option with rich industrial I/O – three DB9 serial ports, dual GbE and CAN – for IoT projects, industrial HMI and control boxes; RK3562J adopts a system-on-module plus carrier-board design with open-source carrier support, targeting low-power, high value-for-money applications.
The “J” suffix denotes Rockchip’s industrial-grade line, which adds extended temperature tolerance, longer supply commitments and stricter reliability screening on top of commercial versions. From the flagship RK3588J down to the entry-level RK3562J, the industrial chip matrix now spans every performance tier from high-end edge AI to basic industrial control, giving board makers a complete domestic sourcing space.
From an industry perspective, wide temperature, wide voltage, real-time capability and long-term supply are the four core criteria of industrial-grade boards – the watershed between consumer and industrial solutions. As edge computing scales into harsh environments such as outdoor cabinets, vehicle terminals, energy-storage stations and mining sites, demand for wide-temperature boards is shifting from optional to mandatory, and the shipment share of industrial-grade chips keeps rising.
Junyi Microelectronics’ J-series core boards and K-series edge intelligence boards adopt industrial-grade components and wide-temperature designs (default -20C to 70C, with wider ranges available on demand), backed by in-house PCBA and assembly lines to provide stable, reliable hardware foundations for industrial control, energy and transportation customers.
