The AI Agent hardware Violoop, recently launched on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, has garnered significant market attention. The device adopts Rockchip’s dual-chip solution combining the RK3576 main controller with the RK1828 edge AI coprocessor, achieving a leap in computing paradigm from “passive command response” to “proactive understanding and participation in work.”
In terms of specific division of labor, the RK3576 handles system operations, screen capture, and task orchestration, while the RK1828 provides 20 TOPS of NPU computing power for local large-model inference. Screen content can be understood locally on the device, enabling real-time screen reading, proactive preparation of next steps, and cross-application execution upon user confirmation. This design truly integrates AI agents into personal productivity and smart office scenarios.
The debut of Violoop marks edge AI’s transition from proof-of-concept to consumer-grade hardware deployment. In its September institutional investor survey, Rockchip revealed that the RK182X series coprocessors already cover five major scenarios: office, home, robotics, industrial and edge computing, and automotive, with end products continuously launching and entering mass production. The office scenario alone encompasses conference displays, AI office agents, and AI routers.
For the embedded core board and industrial control sectors, the “main controller + coprocessor” dual-chip architecture represented by Violoop is becoming the mainstream paradigm for edge AI computing deployment. With its RK35xx series main controllers and RK182X series coprocessors, Rockchip offers customers flexible configuration options tailored to different computing power, power consumption, and cost requirements, helping shorten R&D cycles and accelerate mass production.
