RK3568 Application Watch: From Energy Storage Plants to Drone Control Boards

2026-10-04 Industry Insights

As Rockchip’s classic mid-range AIoT chip, the RK3568 (quad-core Cortex-A55 + 1 TOPS NPU) continues to penetrate new industries years after its launch.

In energy storage, RK3568+FPGA heterogeneous solutions are used for predictive maintenance and intelligent optimization: the FPGA handles high-speed signal acquisition while the RK3568 manages policy computation and communication, achieving microsecond-level response with battery degradation prediction error below 3%. A 20MW-class photovoltaic plant project is already in operation, reducing O&M costs by about 60%.

In the drone sector, the RK3588/RK3568 — with highly integrated IP cores, strong compute, and low power consumption — are used to build highly autonomous drone control boards covering aerial photography, crop spraying, power line inspection, and surveying.

The RK3568 also supports AMP multi-system technology, allowing different cores to run independent OS instances to meet industrial requirements for real-time performance and reliability.
