Rockchip has officially launched the RK3572 octa-core processor targeting the mid-range AIoT market. Featuring an octa-core architecture, this product achieves a breakthrough balance between high-performance computing, low-power control, and full-stack AI capabilities, providing a highly competitive computing foundation for consumer electronics, smart hardware, and industrial edge devices.
Positioned between the flagship RK3588 and the mainstream RK3566, the RK3572 fills the computing gap in the mid-range AIoT market. The chip continues Rockchip’s technical advantages in multimedia processing, AI acceleration, and interface expandability, while optimizing for cost-sensitive application scenarios, enabling more terminal manufacturers to obtain edge AI capabilities at a reasonable cost.
In the robotics field, the RK3572 has already been applied in binocular structured-light depth vision solutions. Utilizing Rockchip’s self-developed AI binocular depth algorithm, this solution achieves a depth frame rate of 25fps, meeting robots’ demands for real-time 3D perception. At the 2026 World Robot Expo, Rockchip demonstrated side-by-side comparisons with traditional depth cameras, visually presenting depth imaging differences across various reflectivity and transparent material scenarios.
For embedded core board developers, the launch of the RK3572 enriches Rockchip’s product portfolio. The company’s grid development strategy employs the RK3588, RK3576, RK3572, and other series to fully meet the differentiated performance and computing needs of the same customer across different scenarios, as well as different customers within the same scenario. Meanwhile, the cross-platform portability between chip platforms significantly enhances customer stickiness.
