MYIR Debuts Industrial-Grade RK3588 Development Board: Six GbE Ports, Six Camera Inputs and Dual M.2 AI Expansion

2026-10-25 Industry Insights

MYIR Electronics has officially launched a new industrial development board built on Rockchip’s flagship RK3588 processor. According to an EEWorld report dated October 22, the board integrates six Gigabit Ethernet ports, six camera interfaces and dual M.2 slots for AI acceleration cards, targeting machine vision, edge AI and industrial IoT gateway applications — a platform described as “better suited for industrial development.”

At its core, the RK3588 is fabricated on an 8nm process and packs an octa-core CPU (4x Cortex-A76 plus 4x Cortex-A55), a 6 TOPS NPU and an ARM Mali-G610 MP4 quad-core GPU, with 8K video encode/decode support. The board’s system-on-module adopts a stamp-hole plus LGA hybrid package, balancing reworkability with high-speed signal integrity. The six GbE ports enable multi-segment network isolation (production, office and management networks) or multi-link aggregation; the six camera inputs support parallel multi-channel machine-vision acquisition; and the dual M.2 slots flexibly combine NVMe SSD storage with NPU acceleration cards, scaling AI inference performance on demand.

From an industry perspective, competition among industrial development boards is shifting from “good-enough specs” to “scenario-specific design” — interface headroom, compute expandability and package engineering are becoming the key differentiators. Industrial equipment typically serves five to ten years, and board-level compute expansion lets machines keep upgrading their AI capabilities without a redesign; meanwhile, flagship domestic SoCs such as the RK3588 are helping Chinese board vendors penetrate high-end machine-vision and edge-computing markets once dominated by x86 platforms.

Junyi Microelectronics is deeply invested in the Rockchip ecosystem. Its J-series system-on-modules (J-3588 / J-3576 / J-3568) and K-series edge intelligent mainboards use industrial-grade components with wide-temperature design, offer rich industrial interfaces including multi-GbE, multi-camera, CAN and RS485, and come with long-term supply commitments — backed by deep baseboard and enclosure customization that helps customers move quickly from evaluation to mass production.
